Taking Time to Just Be

What if we took more time to just be?

As we begin this new year how will you create space to just be?

I was recently in Vancouver for a meeting. That was my only meeting for the day.

Instead of driving, I took transit, which also included taking the Seabus after the appointment to return to the North Shore where I was staying.

If you are not familiar with Vancouver, the Seabus connects downtown with the North Shore.

This created space to just be.

As I enjoyed the Seabus ride, the sun was starting to set.

Instead of getting caught in the rush of catching the next bus as part of the commute, I walked to the Lonsdale Quay courtyard and continued to enjoy the sunset.

This also opened a window to enjoy an 18 block walk up Lonsdale, to where I was staying.

This was just what I needed

What if we did this more often?

I often talk about the importance of building transition time between our meetings.

What if we went a little further and created that space to just be and connect with ourselves?

To be our best selves and create communities and cultures of care we need to say yes to ourselves and ask, what do I need in this moment.

Then listen.

What new choices will you make for 2025?
